Roasted Dandelion Root Tea

Do you like to drink tea?  I love it!  There’s nothing more cozy as having a cup of hot tea on a cold winter day.  We are getting a winter blizzard here in Michigan so I’ve already had two big cups of tea today.  I had one cup cold to start my day and another hot, a little bit ago, to warm me up.

Did you know that not all teas are made equal?  Some have pesticides and ingredients that are less than healthy for you.  So, why not choose a tea that tastes good and gives your body health benefits?

One of my favorites that I’ve tried so far is Traditional Medicinals Organic Roasted Dandelion tea.  It has an amazing flavor, not too bitter, and is caffeine-free.  I had to give caffeine up about six months ago so having a great tea to fall back on is a must.

I get this at either Vitacost or from our local health food store.  There are a lot of health benefits that this tea provides such as helping with digestion, it promotes healthy liver function, aids in weight loss, helps to purify the bladder and kidneys, and reduces the risk of urinary tract infection.

When I get up in the morning, I put my kettle on to boil water and make a big cup of this tea.  I often put ice in the cup to drink it cold and it tastes great that way, too.

Here’s a great article I found about the importance of buying a quality type of tea.  The Food Babe shares some great info here and finds that Numi, Traditional Medicinals, and Rishi Tea are the cleanest.

I need to try some more flavors as I get stuck on the same one and continually buy that.  If you have any favorites, let me know.  I’m willing to try something new!

It’s all about the journey…  drink good tea on your way!
