Time for Change

Last weekend, we had a potential new babysitter over to meet our kids and us.  She was very nice and asked a lot of great questions about the kids.  She asked us if they have any food allergies (no, but they do have food intolerances to gluten and dairy which many people have but don’t realize.  My intolerances were misdiagnosed as Irritable Bowel Syndrome).  She was really curious about our holistic lifestyle and asked a lot of questions about what we eat, where we shop for our food, about our essential oils and diffuser and about our Tyent water ionizer.

Homemade Facial Moisturizer

Welcome to our Essential Oil Blog Hop! We are so glad you’ve decided to join us!

There are so many chemicals in facial moisturizer nowadays.  It is no wonder so many people have asthma, allergies, eczema, psoriasis.  Many of these products say, “natural,” right on the packaging. But, if you look at the list of ingredients, you will find many that have chemicals in them that can cause skin irritation and wreak havoc on your body.  With skin being our largest organ, it is important to treat it well and without chemicals.

Our Essential Oils Journey

Back in September, I posted about essential oils.  I said that we were waiting for out kit to arrive from Young Living and that I would update you about our essential oils journey.  I am here today to tell you about it. What a journey it has been so far!

Sciatic Nerve Pain Relief, part two

Earlier this year, I wrote about How to Alleviate Sciatic Nerve Pain Naturally and Sciatic Nerve Pain Relief. What I learned from these two posts (especially the second one) is that many people suffer from sciatic nerve pain.  And it really hurts… a lot!  My number one read, re-posted and pinned post so far has been Sciatic Nerve Pain Relief.  It is a great article that offers a wonderful recipe on how to relieve sciatic nerve pain, naturally.  And, believe me, the recipe works very well.

How to Prevent the Flu

It’s flu season again.  Don’t let the flu catch you!  We had great success last year during flu season using Nature’s Way Sambucus Immune Syrup.  We have never been healthier during flu season!  We are still using this wonderful, natural elderberry syrup as a preventative this season but we have added some different things to our arsenal this year.

Essential Oils

Have you ever used essential oils?  I was first introduced to them years ago when I first started getting therapeutic massages.  Then, in 2002, I attended Massage Therapy school at Irene’s Myomassology and was further intrigued by these oils and their healing abilities.

Getting Back Into the Swing of Things…

Hello!  I am finally able to get back into posting articles on my blog!  I am sorry I have been away for over two months.  My last post was at the end of June and since then, my family and I have moved to a new home and city, we have had the kitchen at the new home torn up for the past five weeks doing a renovation, both kids have started back to school and I have still been learning more about holistic ways to become healthier and happier.

I am very excited to be able to sit down to write something again.  I have really missed posting on my blog each day.  My next few posts will be about a natural deodorant that I have started using that is now my all-time favorite (I have literally tried about a dozen natural deodorants).  The one I now use keeps me feeling fresh all day and has no aluminum in it.  I can’t say enough about it!

Within the past two days, I have been juicing.  I watched the documentary, “Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead,” a few months ago and it really had a huge impact on me.  I bought a juicer, didn’t like the juice it created and took it back.  I exchanged it for a different model in the same line and juiced about an hour ago.  I will be writing about the results soon.

Another topic I have been thinking a lot about lately are essential oils.  Do you use them and if so, what kind and how do you use them?  I currently use lavender, peppermint and tea tree oil.  I know there are hundreds of great uses for oils and I am really interested in using them to help heal.

Well, I sure hope you have been well in the past few months.  I hope you  have been taking good care of your health and paying more attention to what you are eating, drinking, putting on your skin, what cleaning products you use in your home, what candles you burn (try soy, not synthetic).  Have you tried a green smoothie yet?  We are still drinking those each day and love them!

Please let me know if there is anything you are wondering about that will help your health and I will write about it.  In the meantime, enjoy your day!

 It’s all about the journey…
