As a Stay at Home (and now Homeschooling) Mom, I Needed More

As moms, we have a lot on our plates and often forget about ourselves. Before I got married and had children, I was a busy and successful career woman. Once we got married, I still worked and then when I got pregnant with our daughter, I was put on bed rest at 7 1/2 months. My husband and I were in agreement that once we had kids, I would stay at home with them.

Fast forward to the fall of 2013 when I was still a stay at home mom.  I was given the opportunity to check out some really high quality essential oils.  Seeing as how I had made a lot of health and wellness changes for my family and I, I thought I owed it to us to check the oils out.   I admit, I was a huge skeptic at first. I even thought that the essential oils we had were just as good since they were from the place I went to massage therapy school. Well, I would soon find out how very wrong I was. There is a huge difference in the quality of oils. As you know, when you love a product, you blab about it. That’s how it went with the essential oils and now the CBD oil.

What I want to tell you is that I had started feeling so badly about myself and about being a stay at home mom well before 2013.  By then, I had been a stay at home mom for 8 years and had a 7 1/2 and 3 year old.  Being a stay at home Mom is the biggest and most important job I have ever had but it was not as fulfilling as I wanted it to be. I have a business degree and also a massage therapy and holistic healing background. I was not using my skills and talents that I had learned up to the point of having kids. I missed that part of me. A lot.  I also didn’t like relying on my husband 100% to take on all the financial burden.  I was an independent woman with my own job and apartment when we met.

Once we got our starter kit of essential oils, they helped us so much that I started telling everyone I knew.  Well, sooner than later,  I had myself a nice little business that brought in an extra $300, $500, $1,000 a month.  It helped my family and me a lot and I was once again using my talents of helping others feel better.  I did this all around our kiddos and felt so much better about myself.

Fast forward once more to the spring of 2014 when our daughter was having some difficulties in school that could not be reasonably resolved with the school.  We took both kids out of school, three months shy of the end of the school year, planning to send them to another Catholic school the next school year. Well, once again, God knows best and that wasn’t His plan.

My kids both did so well being homeschooled that they begged me to homeschool them again the next year.  I said, “No, I can’t do this (while my head was twitching!!).  I was supposed to have an entire day to myself for five days in a row when you go to school.  I just can’t.”  I prayed about this, went back and forth with my hubby, prayed some more, bitched and moaned (sorry, Tom), and finally came to the conclusion that we would try homeschooling for the 2014-2015 school year.

Well, here we are, 3 years later and guess what?  We are STILL homeschooling!  Talk about this mama not getting a break – like ever!  But, honestly, it has been the most rewarding thing that I could provide to my kids for their future.  I almost had a darn breakdown at the end of this last school year.  I was so burnt out and was checking out different schools in our area.  That was my fault, though, as I found out from some expert homeschooling mamas that we should not teach our kids every academic subject. They should go to a homeschool co-op so we have a partner, per se.  Well, duh, that made so much sense to me!

So, this year, both my kiddos go to a co-op twice a week and that is enough time for me to re-group and feel rejuvenated.  I also absolutely LOVE what I do now.  I was introduced to another company in April this year.  I was not looking for a different opportunity after being with the essential oils company for almost four years and building a big business.  But, again, God has His way of doing things.  I really hemmed and hawed about this new company and almost didn’t do it.  I prayed, once again, for God to show me His will.

My other business had been stagnate for over a year and I honestly had no idea how to jump start it again.  I decided to give this new company a go because I figured, “What do I have to lose?”  When I first started with it, they had some great products that I tried and liked.  About a month later, they added a high quality, organic, non-gmo CBD oil.  Um, what in the world is CBD oil?  I had absolutely no clue at all.

As a Mom who is very interested in health and wellness for my family, I thought, “I’ll give it a try.”  I am beyond thankful for this product and am honest when I say it has changed my life and now the lives of many others.  I got a bottle of the CBD oil during the pre-launch stage and started taking it right away. I didn’t notice anything at all for a couple of weeks.  This can be normal since all of our bodies are different.  Some of my customers notice a change after their first dose of three drops.

A few weeks into taking it,  I started to notice that I felt much more energy, got better sleep, the sciatica pain wasn’t as bad, my anxiety and depression seemed to be less.  The biggest change for me has been what this oil has done for my Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder.  It has helped the symptoms subside so much that this month, my period started 5 days early and I didn’t even know it was going to start because I had no PMDD symptoms at all.  That is AMAZING to me!  HUGE!!  Like I need to tell EVERYONE I know and help others feel better, too!  And now my entire family takes it!

Now, I am building a business around telling everyone about this “miracle” oil.  It’s a bottle of absolute goodness and I feel so lucky to have found it.  And because I am following my passion, I am building another very lucrative business that will help us in the future.

I am still also developing my skills and talents.  In the business of network marketing, you have to be very self-aware and continually work on yourself.  It’s a business of networking with people.  I will be forever thankful for this business because it has allowed me to stay at home with my kids, homeschool them, and make really great money to help stash away for our future. We also get to take a few extra trips a year that we never could afford before.  I feel useful again and extremely fulfilled since I am able to follow my passion of helping others heal through holistic ways.

As a mama, don’t forget that you are WORTH time and energy, too.  You are worth it!!  If you are feeling the way I was, let’s chat!  Maybe you could also help others while helping yourself and investing in YOU!!
