Honey and Garlic Vinaigrette Salad Dressing


One of my most re-pinned posts is my Basil Vinaigrette Salad Dressing.  It is absolutely delicious and does not contain any chemicals like a lot of store-bought salad dressings do.  Ever since we have been eating homemade salad dressing, I have a really hard time eating processed dressings.  My palette has become very attune to detecting the chemical taste that a lot of store-bought brands contain.

Next time you are at the store, pick up some different bottles of salad dressing.  Turn the bottle over and look at the list of ingredients.  You will see many different oils listed and most of the time, they are genetically modified.  You may also see High Fructose Corn Syrup and you can take a minute to read about how I feel about that ingredient.  They can also contain Monosodium Glutamate, or MSG, along with food dyes.  None of these things are good for your body.

My Mom has also started making her own salad dressing.  The last time we were at my parent’s house, she made this dressing for us.  Oh my goodness!  It is so delicious and healthy!  It is now my favorite dressing and I truly cannot get enough of it.  I look forward to salad every night at dinner now.

So, let’s get to it.  (I have modified my recipe a little bit because I did not have the same vinegar my Mom used. It still tastes great).



♥ 1/4 Cup Extra Virgin Olive Oil
♥ 1 Tablespoon Red Wine Vinegar
♥ 1 Teaspoon Simply Organic Dried Basil
♥ 1 Tablespoon Raw Honey (preferably from a local source so it can help you build up immunity to local allergens)
♥ 1 Clove Garlic finely chopped
♥ Sea Salt and Organic Black Pepper to taste


Combine all ingredients.  This will make enough for two large salads.
