Forks Over Knives Film

Have you seen the, “Forks Over Knives” film yet?  We got Netflix the other day (you can sign up for a 30-day trial for free) and I was so happy to see they had this documentary.  I truly feel if everyone in the United States watched Forks Over Knives, and made some positive changes in their diet, heart disease, obesity, diabetes and many other diseases would be a thing of the past.  I know this is a grandiose statement to make but I feel that this documentary hits the nail on the head with what is going on in the U.S. today and how we can make changes for the better.

We have started eating a whole-food, plant-based diet at my house.  After watching Forks Over Knives and learning so much more about how vitally important it is for our bodies to eat this way, we are now focused even more so on a whole-food, plant-based diet.

As Americans, we have just accep that heart disease, cancer, obesity and all kinds of other diseases are just common place. Well, yes, they are in the United States.  But, they aren’t in many other countries who eat the right way.  These diseases can be avoided and reversed (yes they can despite what your doctor may tell you) by eating a whole-food, plant-based diet.

Why are we accepting that these diseases are our fate when they don’t have to be?  Why are we accepting childhood obesity when we can change it?  We need to stop being complacent and care about our future.

How many people do you know that have either had a heart attack or some type of cancer or who will in the future?  These diseases can be completely eradicated from our society.  Most of these diseases are diet-related, not hereditary as most people think.

How many people do you know that are on prescription drugs for high cholesterol, high blood pressure, diabetes?  This is such the “norm” nowadays and it shouldn’t be.  Doctors should be focused on healing with a whole-food, plant-based diet, not pushing another drug that they get a kick back from Big Pharma.

Please, take the hour and a half out of your busy life to watch this film.  It truly can save either your life or the life of a friend or family member.

I immediately emailed the information about Forks Over Knives to my family members right after watching it.  I just feel that this could be the start of something big for our country if people believe in themselves and take their health into their own hands.

Please, stop relying on the USDA (U.S. Department of Agriculture) to dictate what you should eat.  They are so wrong about what we should eat.  Why do you think our country is in the dietary chaos that it is in?

You can either click on this link to buy the DVD, watch it for free on Netflix (sign up for a free 30-day trial) or rent it!  Please, let me know what you think about Forks Over Knives once you watch it.

This information is from the Forks Over Knives description:

“What has happened to us?  Despite the most advanced medical technology in the world, we are sicker than ever by nearly every measure.

Two out of every three of us are overweight.  Cases of diabetes are exploding, especially amongst our younger population.  About half of us are taking at least one prescription drug.  Major medical operations have become routine, helping to drive health care costs to astronomical levels.  Heart disease, cancer and stroke are the country’s three leading causes of death, even though billions are spent each year to “battle” these very conditions.  Millions suffer from a host of other degenerative diseases.

Could it be there’s a single solution to all of these problems?  A solution so comprehensive but so utterly straightforward, that it’s mind-boggling that more of us haven’t taken it seriously?”

It’s all about the journey…

I enjoyed your website and have to say I am already doing a lot of the things for myself that you have posted on your website. Keep up the good work. Thank you.

    • Thanks, Tim! I love learning about how to be healthier and sharing what I learn with others. I will be posting again within the next month or so. Have had to focus on the move and now getting the kids back to school. I hope you are well! 🙂

  2. You should also check out Food, Inc. Also, if you watch Forks Over Knives, which I do beielve is a great film with the great overall message that a plant-based diet should be strongly considered by all, the Chinese study they cite repeated also revealed something concerning that isn’t even mentioned in the movie. The correlations between those that consumed wheat-based products and incidence of disease were WAY STRONGER than the correlations between those that consumed animal products and incidence of disease.
