Do you like to drink tea? I love it! There’s nothing more cozy as having a cup of hot tea on a cold winter day. We are getting a winter blizzard here in Michigan so I’ve already had two big cups of tea today. I had one cup cold to start my day and another hot, a little bit ago, to warm me up.
Do you love coleslaw like we do at our house? We like to make it but have not found that one recipe that says, “YUMMY!” and, “Let’s make our coleslaw recipe again.” Until today!
Do you love cold bean salads as much as we do in the summer? This one is sooo yummy, healthy, and filling! I have been gluten free for 14 years and dairy free for 6 so this fits the bill for both of those intolerances.
This is one of our all-time favorite salads and is a huge hit when we take it to a party! We always come home with an empty bowl. My friend, Sherry, is the one who gave me this recipe about 16 years ago so at our house, it is known as the “Sherry salad.” I have passed this recipe on to so many people!
A few weeks ago, my good friend, Martha, called to ask me some great questions about how we have changed our eating habits over the past few years. She wanted to know where to start on her journey. I had to stop and think about this.
Are you tired of harmful pesticides being on your food? Not sure what to buy organic? The EWG (Environmental Working Group) puts a list together of the dirty dozen (plus) and clean fifteen each year. The “dirty dozen (plus)” are the fruits and vegetables you should buy organic and the “clean fifteen” are the fruits and vegetables lowest in pesticides.
Do you eat kale? If not, you are truly missing out. It has become one of my favorite vegetables (if not my favorite). I have been eating kale almost every day this year. If I don’t have it one day, my body really craves it.
Last week, I watched the Forks Over Knives film. This film has forever changed my life. My family and I had already started eating more of a plant based diet but after watching this film, it gave me even more incentive to continue on our journey to remove all processed foods and meat from our diet.

Have you tried meatless tacos? I hadn’t until two days ago. And boy was I missing out! They are truly delicious and even my kids liked them! My daughter even told me she liked these better than tacos with meat!
