Roasted Dandelion Root Tea

Do you like to drink tea?  I love it!  There’s nothing more cozy as having a cup of hot tea on a cold winter day.  We are getting a winter blizzard here in Michigan so I’ve already had two big cups of tea today.  I had one cup cold to start my day and another hot, a little bit ago, to warm me up.

Mandarin Orange Salad with Slivered Almonds

This is one of our all-time favorite salads and is a huge hit when we take it to a party!  We always come home with an empty bowl.  My friend, Sherry, is the one who gave me this recipe about 16 years ago so at our house, it is known as the “Sherry salad.”  I have passed this recipe on to so many people!

Environmental Working Group (EWG) 2014 Dirty Dozen Plus and Clean

Are you tired of harmful pesticides being on your food?  Not sure what to buy organic?  The EWG (Environmental Working Group) puts a list together of the dirty dozen (plus) and clean fifteen each year.  The “dirty dozen (plus)” are the fruits and vegetables you should buy organic and the “clean fifteen” are the fruits and vegetables lowest in pesticides.

How to Start Eating a Plant Based Diet

Last week, I watched the Forks Over Knives film.  This film has forever changed my life.  My family and I had already started eating more of a plant based diet but after watching this film, it gave me even more incentive to continue on our journey to remove all processed foods and meat from our diet.
