For the past few months, I have been using Marie Kondo’s tidying method, called Kon Mari, to go through and clean out the extra stuff in our home. It has been an incredible experience so far and very liberating! I had heard about this method of cleaning about a year ago. I tucked it way in the back forty of my brain and low and behold, forgot about it! LOL! You ever do that? Me? All.the.time!!
Let’s talk about water today, shall we? Did you know that water helps maintain a healthy weight, aids in weight loss, helps control calories, helps the body’s fluid balance, promotes beautiful skin, fuels the muscles, helps with kidney function, increases productivity and brain function, helps with fatigue, promotes regularity, prevents sickness, helps control pain, helps flush toxins out of the body, treats headaches and migraines, improves mood, and helps digestion?
Last weekend, we had a potential new babysitter over to meet our kids and us. She was very nice and asked a lot of great questions about the kids. She asked us if they have any food allergies (no, but they do have food intolerances to gluten and dairy which many people have but don’t realize. My intolerances were misdiagnosed as Irritable Bowel Syndrome). She was really curious about our holistic lifestyle and asked a lot of questions about what we eat, where we shop for our food, about our essential oils and diffuser and about our Tyent water ionizer.
Hello! I am finally able to get back into posting articles on my blog! I am sorry I have been away for over two months. My last post was at the end of June and since then, my family and I have moved to a new home and city, we have had the kitchen at the new home torn up for the past five weeks doing a renovation, both kids have started back to school and I have still been learning more about holistic ways to become healthier and happier.
I am very excited to be able to sit down to write something again. I have really missed posting on my blog each day. My next few posts will be about a natural deodorant that I have started using that is now my all-time favorite (I have literally tried about a dozen natural deodorants). The one I now use keeps me feeling fresh all day and has no aluminum in it. I can’t say enough about it!
Within the past two days, I have been juicing. I watched the documentary, “Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead,” a few months ago and it really had a huge impact on me. I bought a juicer, didn’t like the juice it created and took it back. I exchanged it for a different model in the same line and juiced about an hour ago. I will be writing about the results soon.
Another topic I have been thinking a lot about lately are essential oils. Do you use them and if so, what kind and how do you use them? I currently use lavender, peppermint and tea tree oil. I know there are hundreds of great uses for oils and I am really interested in using them to help heal.
Well, I sure hope you have been well in the past few months. I hope you have been taking good care of your health and paying more attention to what you are eating, drinking, putting on your skin, what cleaning products you use in your home, what candles you burn (try soy, not synthetic). Have you tried a green smoothie yet? We are still drinking those each day and love them!
Please let me know if there is anything you are wondering about that will help your health and I will write about it. In the meantime, enjoy your day!
It’s all about the journey…
Do you travel a lot? What do you do to eat healthy when you travel? My husband and I just spent the weekend at Macinac Island. I was worried before we left that I would not be able to find many nutritious things to eat to stay on my recently started plant based lifestyle. I was wrong. With some preparation and communication with the hotel we stayed at, overall I think I did pretty well.
